Costume Designer Karyn Wagner’s work can be seen in iconic films with luminary directors such as Frank Darabont’s The Green Mile, starring Tom Hanks, and The Majestic, starring Jim Carrey; Nick Cassavettes’ The Notebook, starring Ryan Gosling and Rachel McAdams; D.J.Caruso’s The Salton Sea, with Val Kilmer and Vincent D’Onofrio; Eve’s Bayou, directed by Kasi Lemmons, and starring Samuel L. Jackson; and Steven Soderbergh’s Underneath, starring Peter Gallagher.  Her television credits include the Antoine Fuqua directed Murder Book, and the wildly successful Friday Night Lights series.

Karyn’s a native Angelino and is convinced that she’s part gypsy.  As a third generation industry vet she lived to hear her  father’s latest location stories all throughout childhood.  Her mother, a beautiful and very stylish history buff contributed another huge influence. Her exotic, bohemian emigré  grandmother taught her that style envelopes are made to be pushed.  A rising starlet in Erich Von Stroheim’s stock players, her career was cut short by talkies, but her scrapbooks and her scrapbox were a never ending source of wonder and entertainment.  Armed with an Art History Degree and endless curiosity Karyn followed in the family footsteps.

Her greatest  passion is telling story.  “You should know everything you need to about a character before they open their mouths and say a word, and you should know it from the costume, the hair and the makeup.”

Karyn’s recent credits include Lovelace, with Amanda Seyfried, James Franco and Peter Sarsgaard; The Identical, starring Ray Liotta and Ashley Judd; The Last of Robin Hood, Richard Glatzer and Wash Westmoreland’s film about Errol Flynn, starring Kevin Kline, Susan Sarandon and Dakota Fanning, both of which will be released in the US later this year.
